Happy Mental Health Awareness month! As many of you may know, for the past two years we've raised funds to donate to mental health organizations during the month of May. We previously donated to both UNC Charlotte's counseling center along with the National Alliance on Mental Illness. This year, our organization of choice is Black Girls Smile.
Black Girls Smile is an organization that was founded in 2012 with the mission to support the mental wellbeing of black women and black girls by providing educational programs and support initiatives that promote a mentally healthy lifestyle. Some of their offerings include: group coaching for students, virtual/ in person workshops, therapy assistance, conflict mediation, and suicide prevention training.
We want to be apart of supporting this amazing organization, so we'll need your help. We're putting all of our products on sale via our website for you all to shop. Twenty percent of the revenue will be donated directly to Black Girls Smile at the end of our sale. Everything will remain on sale until the end of this month. However, if you would prefer to donate directly to the organization, the link to their website will be provided in this blog post. Black Girls Smile
Mental Health is a cause that is very close to our hearts. As we've openly shared, our CEO has battled with her own issues such as depression and anxiety. For that reason, it is important to us to help educate others about mental illnesses and resources that can help other individuals that may be struggling. It is also the reason that H.E.R. Story even exists; to serve as a safe space for other women that may be experiencing personal challenges.
Always remember to take care of yourself and to be kind to others. If you or someone you may know is in need of assistance, please refer to the list of resources on our website to get the help you need. We also curated a digital self-care workbook to help individuals thoughtfully navigate different seasons of their lives, which you can find on our site as well.
We look forward to continue making an impact.
Happy MHA Month,
Angel
