Hello to all of the H.E.R. Story readers! It's been awhile since our last post, but this month is very special to us. May is mental health awareness month!. For the past three years, we've dedicated this month to giving back. The previous organizations that we've given to include: UNC Charlotte's Counseling Center, NAMI, and Black Girls Smile. For this year, I came across a really unique organization called The Scatter Joy Project.
The Scatter Joy Project identifies themselves as the creative mental health company, where they utilize creativity as an outlet for "self expression, healing, and advocacy". What I found interesting about this organization is that they understand that ,yes, talking about mental health is important, but they take it a step further by fostering a safe and creative space for individuals to release their emotions through their creative gifts.
What's also unique about this organization is that they have a physical storefront located in Columbus, Ohio. The store is a blend of a retail shop, bookstore, and coffee shop all in one space. With Scatter Joy, all roads lead back to their mission to make mental health care more affordable and accessible to all. Because of that mission, they use whatever revenue that they make along with donations to provide tools and resources for others.
Now that you know a little bit about this amazing initiative, let's talk about how we fit into all of this. For the remainder of May until June 6th, we will reduce the pricing of all of our products by $5. We will also provide free shipping on all of our products as well up until June 6th. Every order will help us donate to The Scatter Joy Project. After the sale ends on the 6th of June, we will donate 10% of the revenue that we collected from the sale. If you'd prefer to donate directly to this cause instead, we still want to reward you for your contribution. Just show us proof of your donation via email/ dm on our socials , and we will give you a discount code that'll be active after June 6th.
