Before you decide to give up, ask yourself what season of life you are in. On Tik Tok, I recently came across a video of a life coach. In this video she mentioned that there are three major seasons of our lives: the planting season, the nurturing season, and the harvesting season. So take some time now to give it some thought. Which one are you in?
We put so much pressure on ourselves to be more and to have more. Our constant desire for more is great, but it can be the very thing that holds us back. If we do not find contentment in where we currently are, then we will discourage ourselves before we even start.
Planting
Maybe you are in your planting season. This is where you are trying new things and figuring yourself out. This is where you start that new job or go after that new idea. The timing of this season looks different for everyone, but this phase of life is so important to your journey. If you take up the seeds before time, you will be frustrated when the plant never develops. In other words if you give up too soon before you start, you will deceive yourself into believing that nothing is working.
Nurturing
This is where consistency comes into play. Once again, our seasons of life look different for everyone. The time that it takes you to nurture your gifts, talents, and goals will not look the same as anyone else around you. Being consistent in this season could be three weeks, three, months, or even three years. Believe in yourself enough to see your vision through in this season.
Harvesting
This is where you see the fruits of your labor. Be mindful that your harvest season can come in different forms. Maybe you will see a harvest in your finances, or perhaps you will acquire more wisdom. Your harvest season can bring so much more than what you expect, so do not overlook potential blessings.
If you happen not to know what season you are in, take the time to figure it out. Start by self reflecting and asking yourself important questions. Taking the time to get to know yourself will help you have more clarity. Remember to give yourself grace in every season that you go through.
