Have you ever heard the phrase "practice makes perfect" ? Most of us have been taught that consistency is the key to getting what we want in life. Consistency builds character when we create a constant pattern of showing up. Although I agree that consistency is a valuable skill, I believe that the art of being persistent is just as important.
All throughout this year, I've been intentional about being consistent and developing a routine. As great as that sounds, there have been multiple things that have interfered with me adhering to the routine that I set for myself. I don't know about you, but when my routine gets thrown off I have a difficult time navigating the remainder of my day.
Sometimes not being able to be consistent can feel discouraging or even crippling. Yet, this is where being persistent comes into play. Having the ability to be persistent allows you to push through challenges and obstacles. Regardless of how many times you struggle with consistency, being persistent is a way of telling yourself that you are willing to keep showing up despite all the odds.
For this month, I want to challenge you to keep showing up. You may not always be able to show up and give 100% every single day, but you can keep striving towards your goals until you achieve them. Don't give up every time you aren't presented with the most ideal situations. Instead, work on developing an unshakeable drive that pushes you to keep pursuing your goals.
See you next month
